English Placement Test

What is the  Placement Test?

 

The purpose of the placement test is to assess the English proficiency of AAU freshmen who do not have a valid English language proficiency score. (IELTS/TOEFL) The placement test is administered at the beginning of every semester. It covers all language skills of Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing. It also assesses the student’s knowledge of grammar and vocabulary.

 

English Language Proficiency and English Language Level Regulations
 
With the exception of the College of Law and the Arabic Language and Islamic Studies program, the English language is the medium of instruction at AAU. A student who has not submitted an English Language Proficiency Certificate with his/her application needs to sit for the English Placement Test.
 
Based on the results of the test, the student will be placed in one of the English language levels. In addition to the language level courses, a student is allowed to register for General University Requirements.
